I love clothes and I love getting all dolled up but typically when I do, I wind up looking like I'm heading to a rock, every time... without fail... so when it came to styling outfits for a Valentine's Day post, I turned to my pal Ashley Fultz of The Style Editrix to infuse the shoot with a heavy dose of feminine flair.   I thought I was going to end up in a dress and stilettos or something way out of character but Ashley let me stay in my happy place of skinny jeans and a leather jacket.  Instead of totally abandoning my comfort zone for girly glitz and glam, she showed me how to use accessories to bring a bit of glitz and glamor into my go-to looks.  You can dress up your everyday outfits with minimal effort if you have the eye for it and with these awesome zero-to-hero staples she introduced to me, I was sold.  I literally want to purchase one of everything so I don't need to panic changing from day to evening outing.  Throw on these accessories in second and you will completely transform your look into date-worthy attire!  Ashley focused on textured details and statement accessories to add the perfect touch of feminine, romantic flair to my evening ensemble! A faux fur scarf from Ted Baker juxtaposed my delicate lace tank by Wilfred and Vince Camuto studded shoes complimented by some costume jewelry on my ears and décolletage gave me that much needed sparkle head-to-toe!

Valentine’s Day is a special occasion so it’s okay to put a little more thought into your look than you usually do! I know Shenae doesn’t love dressing super girly so I thought an all black outfit would look polished but she would feel comfortable in it. And you can’t wrong with a sexy lace top! I dressed up the look a bit with this amazing statement necklace and crystal ear crawlers and then threw on a color-blocked faux fur scarf to throw on when she heads out for the night- it makes everything look more luxe and interesting. Shenae has amazing shoes so that part was so much fun! A little studded bootie makes the perfect statement!
— Ashley Fultz,

Ashley favored a similar color palette but with a much girlier spin on an evening date look... a leather pencil skirt brought edge and femininity and a cap sleeve lace blouse added a delicate touch.  Strappy heels vamped up this sexy evening look and a neutral coat grounded it all perfectly.

I love dressing up for special occasions like Valentine’s Day. I always feel more feminine and special in a skirt so I opted for this maroon faux leather pencil skirt and paired it with a sexy yet polished black lace blouse. I kept the coat and heels neutral since the skirt is the statement piece.
— Ashley Fultz,

Whether you're a tomboy or a girlygirl, there is something undeniably special about Valentine's Day that makes you want to dress up.  These looks are so different but will get the same jaw-dropping look from your other half, a blind date or every guy in the joint if you're ringing it in with other single girlfriends! The key is in accessorizing and wearing what makes you feel sexy as the unique woman you are.  Whether you're opt for a tight mini dress or leather pants and a blazer,  if you feel sexy and confident, you'll attract all the right kind of attention from that special someone! Thank you Ashley for coming over to spice up my outfit and for sharing your awesome tips with Lost in Lala.  While Ashley was over, I walked her through an easy, delicious and aphrodisiac infused dessert recipe that makes a sweet Valentine's treat, my Chile-Chocolate Covered Strawberries.  For that recipe and more on Ashley's wonderful fashion, beauty, travel and mommy content, head to The Style Editrix! xo
